The Low Down On Insurance
Insurance rules are rapidly changing with as all the new laws go into effect over the next two years. More and more insurance is required to pay, at least in some part, for alternative and more natural health care options. In addition, though it will be challenged, the new laws specifically state that insurance carriers are required to pay for alternative care including massage if it is medically necessary, and if a particular states massage practice act outlines that massage is actually considered healthcare. The District of Columbia's practice act strongly suggests that massage is health care and our profession and services are actually governed by the Department of Health.
